Some more nail art

I am even more obsessed with nail art. Since discovering Pinterest I have also discovered how many cool nail art designs you can do at home. Here are a few I have tried.

I tried some more marbled nails. Practice definitely makes perfect.

Using toothpicks I did some hearts and dots using normal nail varnish.

I've also been having lots of fun with my models own nail art pen. I've been practising so I've got a little better. Here are a few of the designs I've done.

Spotsandstripes

These are some spots and stripes. Not great but one of my first proper attempts.

I did this leopard print ring finger manicure for my trip to the zoo. I thought it was rather appropriate.

This is personally my favourite look I've created with this pen. It takes a very steady hand (not so easy on using my left hand) and a lot of patience but I like it. As with them all, I'm sure practice makes perfect.

I'm really getting into DIY nail art but at the moment I've only scratched the surface. When I have time I'll be doing lots of different things. I want to try out a splatter manicure and some proper stripes using tape

Marbles nails

P205

So I tried out marbled nails last night. What do you think?

I won't even begin to try to explain it l'll just send you to the video that I watched. It is very instructional.

I have to say this is a time consuming activity but I did enjoy it and I'm sure I'll get better after a few more attempts.

My first play with Models Own Nail Art Pen

I went to Boots yesterday and there was an offer on Models Own products: buy two products and get a free nail art pen

As I have complete obsession with nail art I couldn't resist. I've never bought any Models Own products so I bought a pale blue nail varnish to go with the nail art pen. The pen has a pointy tip for dots, details and the like plus a paint brush for stripes and the like.

Today I had a play and I was surprised at how easy the nail art pen was to use. Here are the results:

My right hand was a little less successful but still a lot better than I expected.

My favourite is the leopard print on my little finger, much easier to achieve than expected. Any suggestions for different designs for me to play with?

I have to say in general I was very impressed with the Models Own nail varnish as well, a really nice product.

My only question now is when will they bring out even more colours of the pen??

How to: 6 rings in 6 minutes

After making my first button ring a while back I've wanted to make a lot more and this morning I did. Here is the result:

Dscn0731

I made these in a matter of minutes, so simple and great results.

First you need the ring bases, I bought 20 from eBay for less than £3. Then you need some things to put on top. I had 2 rings, a pink one and a leopard print one, 2 matching blue plastic beads, a bead/button that fell off my Desigual bag and I made a bow from some green ribbon.

All you need to do is superglue the tops to the bases. That is it. Simples. I made sure that the 2 blue beads were glued on in different directions so I had 2 completely different rings. The most expensive ring I here is less than £3.50, not too shabby I don't think!

Which is your favourite? I'm currently rocking the ribbon as it matches my green jumper. I love matchy matchiness!

Another blog post about Marilyn Monroe

Yes yes yes, there is lots out there about Marilyn Monroe's style but I'm going to add to it. For Christmas I received the book Dressing Marilyn, it's brilliant and I urge anyone who has the slightest interest in what Mailyn Monroe wore, to buy it.

Anyone, Marilyn Monroe has always been a style icon to me and here are some of her most iconic looks, which are also my favourite!

My favourite thing about Marilyn Monroe's style is how it definied an era like no-one.

Bargains

I went shopping yesterday, it was absolutely mental but I got some great bits. I wore all new clothes today and I thought I'd share them with you.

The jeans and top/dress are from Primark and are £9 and £10 respectively, not in the sale but still a bargain I think.

The shoes, blazer and necklace were all in the New Look sale. The shoes are a mustard colour suede pair of heels and were only £7 (I also got them in a burnt orange colour), the burnt orange blazer was £12 and the necklace was £1.50.

I've lost a bit of weight recently so pretty much none of my clothes fit me properly so it was nice to finally get some clothes that fit me! The whole outfit was a bargain of only £39.50.

Festive nails

I decided to create some festive with red & green nail varnish & some gold Barry M nail effects.

On my left hand I've painted all bar my ring finger green & my ring finger is red with the gold nail effects.

On my right hand I did the opposite

What do you think? Which is your fave?
